Early
Intervention Program
The
Early Intervention Program is designed for children from birth
to three years of age. Any parents or guardians who have concerns
about their children's development may contact Lexington directly
(1-718-350-3171or -3170) or the "Totline" operated by
the New York State Early Intervention program (1-800-577-BABY)
for referral to an initial service coordinator. The initial service
coordinator provides the parents with counseling and support through
the evaluation process.
After evaluations have been completed, an individual family service
plan (IFSP) is formulated that may approve a variety of services
to help the child with his or her development. At this time, an
ongoing service coordinator is assigned to assist the parents
in obtaining appropriate services for their children.
