The
Stage
The stage
measures 30 feet deep from the proscenium, which is 40 feet wide.
There is 10 feet of wing space on both stage left and stage right.
The stage is accessible to wheelchairs from both the front and
rear of the stage.
The Center's
stage floor is a sprung dance floor. This type of flooring can
be found in both dance studios and the best ballet theatres in
the world. The bounce it provides leads to less fatigue for the
performers. Therefore, it is the floor that is most preferred
by dance groups.
There
are the 3 sets of traveling curtains along with masking curtains
to shadow the backstage areas from the on stage action.
Backstage
Areas
Our Green
Room, located Up Stage Right, is fully equipped with couches for
waiting as well as a TV to watch the action on stage. A fully
accessible bathroom and two dressing rooms adjoin the room.
The
green room and dressing rooms are equipped with monitor speakers.
These speakers are connected to the theatre sound system.
Video
and Presentation
The
system is equipped to play from VHS, DVD, and Mini DV formats,
as well as direct from a computer (such as a PowerPoint presentation).
These media can output to the four plasma screens or the projection
screen. The projected image can be placed onto the down stage
screen or the upstage CYC. The video system also features a video
switcher for broadcast quality transitions between sources.
Access
Systems
The
Ralph and Ricky Lauren Center is equipped with a brand new projection
style open caption system.
Lighting
The
Ralph and Ricky Lauren Center has been fully retrofitted with
state of the art ETC lighting systems. ETC has become the professional
standard in stage lighting and we are fortunate enough to have
a system that meets most any performance need with the capability
of expansion.
Communication
Systems
The
Ralph & Ricky Lauren Center's unique communication system
places one of a kind video coms at every base station. The video
coms allow deaf stagehands to communicate. The infrared video
cameras allow communication to take place despite complete darkness.
This technology cannot be found in any other theatre.
Sound
The sound system in the Ralph and
Ricky Lauren Center can handle many different input devices and
output them into an even greater selection of speakers throughout
the center.
The
house speakers are located above the stage at center, left and
right and are complimented with left and right subwoofers. There
are also a pair of on-stage monitors, backstage monitors and control
room monitors.
