Lexington had 5 returning players and 6 new players to the squad. We struggled at some point and we have made nice progress and sealed with a win over Lake Grove 52 to 41.  Lake Grove led twice by 1 point and we came back and took the lead. Wesley Clarke led the team with 20 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and 7 steals. Derek DeAllie netted 15 points and 7 rebounds. Danny Martinez chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals. Angel Ortiz dished out 7 assists and 5 rebounds. We will continue to improve and get better.

Our 2nd game of the season, Lexington dressed up 7 boys. End of 1st quarter we were down 11-7. The rest of the quarter, our shooting went cold and we couldn't make any shots and handled our 1st lost of the season, 49 to 28.  The Bluejays shot 9 for 42. We will bounce back.
Wesley Clarke led the team with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Angel Ortiz netted in 9 points and 5 steals.

Our defense was so bad that we gave up 71 points to Waldorf. We were down 24 points starting 2nd half, the blue jay boys didn’t give up and battle back. We came up short and handled our 2nd straight lost of the season.  Wesley Clarke led the team with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals. Angel Ortiz netted in 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Julian Vargas scored 10 points. Derek DeAllie grabbed 13 rebounds.

We snapped the losing streak. We played much better on the defense part, took good lead the whole game. Everyone on the team played. Wesley Clarke chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Derek DeAllie led the team with 18 points. Wesley Clarke netted in 17 points and 10 rebounds. Angel Ortiz scored 9 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. We took big lead in 1st quarter and enabled me to use subs for the rest of the game. This win put us into 2nd championship game in a row.

Lexington went on win their 2nd consecutive NJSD Tip-Off basketball championship. Wesley Clarke and Angel Ortiz earned All-Tournament award.

It was a tough loss. After 1st quarter the score was 14-14. At half time, the score was 15-14 with Lexington leading. We only score 1 point on free throw. In 2nd half, they led as many as 9 points and we tied the game with 40 seconds left in 4th. We had opportunity to score few baskets and take the lead. The ball didn’t go in and Child escaped with a win after we missed out last shot at the buzzer.
